The list of possible benefits of a front brake light includes several cases for improving communication between road users and thus ensuring improved road safety.
These cases are by no means limited to asymmetrical relationships (e.g. driver/pedestrian). In the same way, in the case of vehicle/vehicle relationships, the front brake light has the potential to make road traffic more comfortable and safer.
Expected main benefits for all road users:
- prevention of collisions in specific situations (see Annex A)
- reducing the severity of accidents using the warning function (see Annex B)
- reducing driving stress and thus reducing driver errors (see Annex C)
- compensating for communication problems between road users (especially in highly automated vehicles)
